Film Screenings: Sequoias of the Sea and The Last Forests Project, + a report from the Big River Kelp Recovery Project Team

Sequoias of the Sea tells the story of Mendocino County’s disappearing kelp forests and the devastating impact on coastal communities, including fishermen, tribal members, and scientists who are now collectively fighting to restore this vital ecosystem.
This screening will be followed by the teaser of a new film, The Last Forests Project, which will be released this fall and picks up where Sequoias of the Sea story leaves off. And closing out this film event for KelpFest! will be a report from the Big River Kelp Recovery Project Team who will share the most recent data and visuals of kelp restoration at the Big River site in Mendocino (learn more at the Big River Kelp Recovery Project page on bullkelp.info).
